ROB C1600+ pallet sorting line

This solution features a fully automated line designed for sorting pallets by quality. The line starts with a pallet turner, which allows for safe turning and preparation for further assessment. Pallets then move to a sorting station, where an operator assesses their condition and assigns them to one of seven quality grades. Based on the operator's decision, an industrial robot takes over the pallets and automatically stacks them into organised stacks according to the designated categories. The robot precisely positions the pallets, creating stable stacks, which minimises the risk of them toppling or being damaged. The entire process is fully automated, increasing line output, improving work ergonomics, and ensuring fast and precise sorting of large volumes of pallets.

Line modules

We build the line from modules chosen to suit the requirements of your plant.

01

Pallet tipper

Safely turns pallet stacks by 90°, facilitating a quick inspection of each pallet before sorting.

  • Stable support for the pallet during rotation - minimal risk of damage
  • Facilitates quality control and marking of damaged components
  • Manual control or full automation of line operation
  • Reduces inspection time and improves work ergonomics
02

Pallet sorting station

Quality control station where the operator assesses the condition of pallets and directs them to one of seven grades.

  • Inspection of boards, blocks, and structural stability
  • Selection for repair or sorting into 7 categories
  • Integration with robots, turners, and stackers
  • Minimises errors and speeds up handling of large quantities of pallets
03

Pallet stacking - industrial robot

ABB robot sorts and stacks pallets according to 1-7 quality categories indicated by the operator.

  • Servomotor control - precise stacking regardless of pallet type
  • Creates stacks with a height of 2.8-3.2 m
  • Also handles perimeter base pallets and non-standard pallets
  • Easy configuration of number of categories from the operator panel
04

Repair stations

Ergonomic tables for quick replacement of damaged boards and blocks detected during sorting.

  • Automatic or semi-automatic tools for precise repair
  • Typically 2-4 stations in one line
  • Full quality control after repair
  • Integration with robots and stacker in the subsequent part of the line
05

Pallet stacking

Automatically stacks top decks (upper parts of pallets) or finished 4-way pallets in a fast, repeatable, and safe manner.

  • Stacks both top decks (upper parts of pallets) and finished 4-way pallets
  • Stacking standard (one on top of the other) or nested (one inside the other)
  • Space saving in transport and storage
  • Modular design - possibility of expansion with stacking of pallet bottoms
  • Compact solution for large and smaller lines
06

Additional options

The line is typically controlled by an operator - full robotisation is available for plants seeking maximum automation.

  • Standard: operator feeds material and retools the line for new dimensions
  • Option: full automation of machine parameter changeover
  • Industrial robots for material feeding and transport between modules
  • Automatic nail magazine replenishment
