Product description:
This machine is used for cutting blocks for pallets. It is possible to cut different lengths from the same squared timber. The machine measures the material and then cuts the maximum number of blocks from it (optimisation). A divided outfeed conveyor allows blocks to be cut from two different squared timbers. This version has an extended 5 m feeder and offers higher output.
Features
- measuring the length of the squared timber,
- calculating the maximum number of blocks that can be cut from the squared timber,
- trimming the edges of the squared timber,
- possibility of setting cutting tolerance; this function allows for increasing the maximum number of blocks from the squared timber (optimisation),
- cutting different block sizes without stopping the machine,
- sorting blocks of different dimensions,
- a wide conveyor allows multiple squared timbers to be placed on the machine simultaneously,
- an extended 5 m, divided feeder allows blocks to be cut from two different squared timber dimensions - e.g. for a Euro pallet.
- operation: 1 operator,
- Electronic dimension change system,
- Has its own control panel,
- Can operate as a standalone unit or in a production line.
Output:
- 55 blocks per minute

Operating principle:
The operator places the material to be cut onto the wide feeder. The material closest to the cutting section is precisely positioned and measured, then fed for cutting. The block saw performs the first and last cuts at a pre-programmed position. Thanks to advanced optimisation technology, the machine can cut the maximum number of blocks from squared timber. For example: From a 2948 mm long piece of squared timber, we want to cut 100 mm long blocks. Normally, cutting the material yields 29 blocks and 48 mm of waste. By setting a cutting tolerance of +/- 2 mm, the block saw can cut 30 x 98 mm blocks with only 8 mm of waste. (For calculation simplicity, saw blade width was not considered).
When preparing two different block lengths, the divided outfeed conveyor can automatically sort the cut material.
Material dimensions:
Squared timber:
- Height: 75-100 mm
- Width: 75-150 mm
- Length: 800-3900 mm
Blocks:

OPK 5800V pallet block saw
The OPK 5800V block saw cuts squared timber into pallet blocks, measuring the material and automatically optimising the cut to yield the maximum number of blocks from each piece.
Application
The machine handles the first stage of block pallet production: preparing corner and middle blocks from squared timber. The 5800V version has an extended 5 m feeder and a divided outfeed conveyor, which allows blocks to be cut from two different squared timbers simultaneously - for example, different dimensions for a single Euro pallet.
Who it is for
For plants that currently prepare blocks manually or with a simpler saw and want to reduce material waste and staffing - the machine requires one operator. It operates independently or as the first link in a pallet production line.
How it works
The operator places the material on the wide feeder. The element closest to the cutting section is measured and fed for cutting; the first and last cuts are performed at a pre-programmed position. Setting a cutting tolerance (e.g. +/- 2 mm) allows more blocks to be cut from the same squared timber - an example from the product sheet: from a 2948 mm piece of squared timber, standard cutting yields 29 blocks and 48 mm of waste, while with a +/- 2 mm tolerance, it yields 30 blocks and 8 mm of waste. When preparing two different block lengths, the divided conveyor automatically sorts the cut material.

Frequently asked questions
How many blocks per minute does the OPK 5800V block saw cut?
55 blocks per minute for 75 mm long blocks, with one operator.
Can blocks of non-standard dimensions be cut?
Yes, upon individual agreement - the dimensions provided in the specification are recommended, not the only possible ones.
Can the block saw operate independently, or only as part of a line?
Independently or as part of a production line - it is usually the first machine in a pallet production line, before nailing pallet bottoms and top decks.
