The customer was looking for a solution that would combine high nailing capacity with automatic outfeed of finished pallets - to reduce manual labour not only during the pallet assembly itself, but also when stacking them into transport-ready stacks.
The challenge
Automating the nailing process alone only solves part of the problem - if finished pallets still have to be manually outfed and stacked, some of the savings from automation are lost at this very point. The customer needed a line that would complete the entire process from material feeding right through to a finished stack of pallets, without an additional manual workstation at the end.
Solution: Palletmax 10000 with ABB robot
The installed line is one of the largest and most efficient solutions in the MDP Serwis portfolio - a Palletmax series automatic machine in the 10000 variant, working with an ABB robot for stacking finished pallets.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Nailing machine | Palletmax 10000 (Stakma) |
| Nailing technology | CNC |
| Stacking finished pallets | ABB robot (automatic stacking) |
CNC technology allows for precise nailing of pallets of various dimensions from the same machine, and the ABB robot takes over the outfeed of finished pallets and their stacking - without operator involvement at this stage.
Results
According to MDP Serwis, automating this process optimises production costs and reduces the demand for manual labour, while simultaneously increasing the efficiency and repeatability of pallet production for the client.
